Scripture Sunday

1Peter 3:10-11
10 For let him who wants to enjoy life and see good days [good—whether apparent or not] keep his tongue free from evil and his lips from guile (treachery, deceit).
11 Let him turn away from wickedness and shun it, and let him do right. Let him search for peace (harmony; undisturbedness from fears, agitating passions, and moral conflicts) and seek it eagerly. Do not merely desire peaceful relations with God, with your fellowmen, and with yourself, but pursue, go after them!

Worry???

Matthew 6:25-34
25 Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing?
26 Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they?
27 And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature or to the span of his life?
28 And why should you be anxious about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field and learn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spin.
29 Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his magnificence (excellence, dignity, and grace) was not arrayed like one of these.
30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and green and tomorrow is tossed into the furnace, will He not much more surely clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear?
32 For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.
33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.
34 So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble.

 Matthew 11:28-30

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]
29 Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.
30 For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.

Proverbs 12:25

“Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but an encouraging word makes it glad.”

 Philippians 4:6-7
6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.
7 And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Climbing

Big hurdle, little hurdle, just starting your hurdle, or if you’re just starting to see the finish line to your hurdle, the point is…NEVER GIVE UP-AND-KEEP MOVING FORWARD.
The only way to get over your hurdle, and let’s face it, we all have a hurdle; a hurdle of different sizes, degrees and lengths for all of us. However, it you stop in the middle, you’ll never get to the finish line. If you keep doing your best everyday and go to God for help, you will make the steps that inch you forward.
It’s not about how fast you get to the finish line, it’s about getting there. Let this encourage you today, that you will get to your finish line and when you do, you’ll be able to look back at your hump with your head held high, with your shoulders back, knowing that climb made you a better person.
The climb will make you better, kinder, humbled, stronger, and more relatable to others, which will allow you to comfort and encourage others to get over their hurdle. Keep climbing!!!

For

"Everything you are against weakens you. Everything you are for empowers you."
~ Dr. Wayne Dyer

Be for love.
Be for peace.
Be for forgiveness.
Be for things that represent light, positivity, and hope- for these things will empower you.
Dust off the negativity- for as we read in the quote above, only weakens you. Don’t fight for what you don’t want, for you will only be going against the grain. Fight for what you do want, for it will push you forward into the wide open spaces of everything you ever wanted.

Quote of the Day

"We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee."

Compete with No One!

In my heart of hearts,
I no longer want to be
Better than you
Smarter than you
Thinner than you
Prettier than you
Faster than you
Stronger than you...

More accomplished than you
More creative than you
A better mother than you
A better friend than you
Better educated than you
ANYTHING more than you.
I want to walk this path
Side by side
In awe of who you are
In awe of what your gifts are
To see you only in love and light
With your beauty shining through
Just as you are.
And I want you to see me the same way.
For I really do love you
Just as you are.
I only thought I had to be better
In order for you to love me.
I drop this cloak of outshining at the gate.
It has been such a heavy burden,
An unnecessary burden
A self imposed burden.
Will you still love me
Being just as I am.
In my heart of hearts,
I know you will.

Rest to Receive

The importance of receiving the love, the comfort, the rest that is in our Lords arms is more healing than imaginable.
This week, the messages on Renewed Corner have been about resting in HIS arms.
Mentally, take yourself to a state of being where you feel like God does have HIS arms around you. When you picture yourself in HIS arms…rest.
Take a breath to rest.
Receive the feeling that you are safe. Receive the feeling that you are loved. Receive the trust that HE is in control. Receive HIS healing power while you rest in HIS arm. Resting in HIS arms allows HIM to work; Rest to receive.
