Invisible 20/20

You must know and have the mind-set of how much God loves you and how much God protects you.
It’s safe to say that we all have moments of looking back and being so thankful for the way things turned out. Why? Because hindsight can be twenty-twenty. We can look back and see that what we wanted was truly not the best for us. Twenty-twenty is great, but take time and think about all the times God has saved us, protected us, and we didn’t even realize we were in harm’s way.
Always be thankful for God working in your life. Be thankful for God directing your steps. Be thankful for those invisible paths. God loves you too much to mis-direct you; trust in HIS vision for your journey!

3 Praise!

Giving thanks and praise should be an important aspect with your walk with God.
God is always here for you and there are so many ways to look up at HIM to say, “thank you, God!” Even in tough times, it’s refreshing to think of all the great ways God has come through for you.
Have a heart of praise; there is more right with you than you realize. Today list at least three things to praise God for and focus on those three things! There’s never a bad time to praise!

A Way…

Not only is God the way but HE also has a way. No matter what a situation may look like, no matter how long a situation has stayed the same, and it doesn’t matter if you can’t figure your situation out; God always has a way to get you through. There is always a way with God. There is a way God can fix, heal, restore, bring to pass, and change. Nothing is impossible with God, and God has your best interest at heart. No matter how dark your day looks, God has a way to bring in the sun! God, the way, the truth, the light has…a way!

A Word of Peace

2 Thessalonians 3:16
New International Version (NIV)
16 “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.”

The best way to know if you are in the will of God’s plan- is by having HIS peace. God wants you to experience peace. God needs you to be still and allow all of your emotions to settle so that you may be led by the spirit of peace that lives in you. Peace is a beautiful thing. Peace is available to you. Our God is the Prince of Peace; allow yourself to experience peace from the true source of peace and not worldly peace. As the scripture says, let the Lord be with you all. Shalom.

Scripture Sunday: Love

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

So Close

Close but so far; this was a once perception of how I viewed God. It once felt like God was close but at the same time HE was so far in the distance. I say, it once felt, because the longing to feel close to God when feeling HE was so far away is past tense.
Through enough experience with God and with the journey of wanting to grow in my relationship with God, I have come to realize that God is always right here, always right now; as my late grandmother would say, “you’ve graduated.” Yes, I’ve come up a little higher and understand that God is my best friend who will never leave me; this truth is for you too.
We may not always have a sign, a feeling, or an enlightened experience to know that God is here, but HE is. God is here when we call out to HIM and HE is here when we are in a mindless state of distraction. The bible even talks about God watching over you when you sleep. Every moment from every breath, your God is watching over you. Keep growing with God…you’re so close!

Scripture Sunday

Isaiah 61

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
    because the Lord has anointed me
    to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
    to proclaim freedom for the captives
    and release from darkness for the prisoners,

to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
    and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
    and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
    instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
    instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
    instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
    a planting of the Lord
    for the display of his splendor.
They will rebuild the ancient ruins
    and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
    that have been devastated for generations.
Strangers will shepherd your flocks;
    foreigners will work your fields and vineyards.
And you will be called priests of the Lord,
    you will be named ministers of our God.
You will feed on the wealth of nations,
    and in their riches you will boast.
Instead of your shame
    you will receive a double portion,
and instead of disgrace
    you will rejoice in your inheritance.
And so you will inherit a double portion in your land,
    and everlasting joy will be yours.
“For I, the Lord, love justice;
    I hate robbery and wrongdoing.
In my faithfulness I will reward my people
    and make an everlasting covenant with them.

Their descendants will be known among the nations
    and their offspring among the peoples.
All who see them will acknowledge
    that they are a people the Lord has blessed.”
10 I delight greatly in the Lord;
    my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
    and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
    and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

11 For as the soil makes the sprout come up
    and a garden causes seeds to grow,
so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness
    and praise spring up before all nations.

Attitudes

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, gift, or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past...we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes."

Sunday, February 22, 2015

Scripture Sunday

Psalm 139: 13-18

13For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
15
My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
    all the days ordained for me were written in your book
    before one of them came to be.
17
How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
    How vast is the sum of them!
18
Were I to count them,
    they would outnumber the grains of sand—
    when I awake, I am still with you.

1,2,3,4…

One of the best ways to renew your self is to think on the positive. Today I encourage you to focus on the beauty that you do have or the beauty that is around you; I guarantee it is there. Make a list of things that reminds you how blessed you are. When you start to feel blue, pull out your list and remind yourself that things aren’t as bad as they seem. Focus on what counts by counting your blessings!

Scripture Sunday

Ephesians 3:17-20
Amplified Bible (AMP)

17 May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,
18 That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];
19 [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!

20 Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do super-abundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]

"Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that there is something in them. To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. To think only of the best, to work only for the best and expect only the best. To be enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear and too happy to permit the presence of trouble."

Quote & Thought

"Action is the antidote to despair."
~ Joan Baez

Thought:
There are times when we need to take a step, a leap of faith, if you will.
When we take a step towards anything categorized as outside the box, we can either experience the door being open or the door being closed, either way, we don’t know which is which until we take that first step of action.
God’s grace is so good; you will feel the grace and the hand of God directing and leading you to where you are meant to be. So don’t despair. Take the first step in faith and see where the grace of God leads you.

Breath of Hope

Have you ever noticed how thick the air feels of hope when we enter into a new season? New Year’s is definitely the time of year for a fresh new start. But how do you get a fresh new start? Is a fresh start really dictated by a date on a calendar? No. God loves a fresh start, whether it be at the start of a new year, or the weeks after your New Year’s resolutions have been abandoned. God is always ready to work with you and help you get back on your feet.
Breathe in the thick hope-filled air and let it carry you through your days. Ask God for the help you need and give Him the New Year’s resolution list you’re working on; let you and HIM breathe in hope together.
Happy New Year!
