Peaceful Pursuit

There are a few souls around me that have no inner peace; these souls have trained themselves to be in constant motion. Notice how I used the word train in the previous sentence. If you feel like a soul that is always doing, performing, racing, trying to keep up with everyone and everything, please take heart in knowing that you can train yourself in the opposite of that direction. These souls that I talk about can certainly train themselves to be at peace if they choose to tackle this area in their lives.

Peace is important. There are many benefits to being at peace throughout your day. I notice when I approach the day or a task with peace, things flow much easier; my energy doesn’t seem as zapped, I can concentrate better which transfers to a job well done at hand, and it feels as if there is enough time to finish what I started.

I have to actively remind myself to be at peace, and I do this by talking to myself. Talking to yourself, reminding yourself, taking some deep breaths are tools that I use to help center myself. Habits don’t form or break over night, but every peaceful pursuit will help you reach a peaceful state of mind.

But what happens if you are surrounded by nervous-nelly’s all the time? Be care about the energy you surround yourself with. Let’s look at an example:

A couple is in a room and they are having a very serious conversation. You have no idea that a serious conversation is going on and you enter the room. The couple stops the conversation as you enter but you can tell just by the energy in the room that something is off and awkward.

This example is to bring awareness to the fact that you probably have experienced something similar to this and to bring awareness to what energy feels like even without words.

We all have to be responsible for the energy we present to one another; not for the sole benefit for another but for the benefit of you and your health.

Even if you are around nervous-nelly’s or tense energy, you are in control of your own inner peace. You are the one who controls your own energy; don’t let other energies control you.

If tense energy gets felt by others in a room, why wouldn’t peaceful energy?  You feed whatever you pursue.

Deep breaths towards peaceful pursuits,

Happy, when?

Happiness does not mean, “until.”

Until this happens…I’ll be happy.

Until that happens…I’ll be happy.

I’m waiting until things come together for me to happy.

I won’t be happy until this situation changes.

Don’t wait for circumstances to change in order for you to be happy. Happiness is now.  All we have is the present moment, and the present moment is a continued state of being; don’t put off happiness.

Stepping

Stepping into unknown areas can be, well…nerve-racking. As comforting as our box is, it’s healthy to step out of your comfort zone and try new things. We can open up our world by simply trying something new.

Newness can come in the form of a class, a recipe, a job, travel, or even a new route on your way to the store. Whenever you take a step of newness, remember that the Holy Spirit is with you.

When you start to question your confidence at the new experience staring at you in the face, remember Philippians 4:13:

“I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency].”

“Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true.”

Look at this scripture for your endurance to service, doing-good, pressing forward, and stretching in growth, because that endurance will bring you the desires of your heart in its right season; don’t give up!

Thursday’s post was a quote from the famous guru Dr. Wayne Dyer:

"Everything you are against weakens you. Everything you are for empowers you."

If I am correct, I believe I remember Dyer talking about Mother Teresa. Our topic today aligns with the quote above, which is the focus of your intentions.

Mother Teresa would be asked to protest against certain things…notice how against is highlighted. Now, Mother Teresa would say no to protests that were against things. Mother Teresa’s explanation for declining against protests follows intention and the Dyer quote.

Whatever your intention is OR wherever your focus is grows.  You want to grow in the right direction. You want to place your energy into things that will grow in the right direction.

Mother Teresa would offer her service to protest for peace, because peace is the intention and peace is what she wanted to grow. Now, read the Dr. Wayne Dyer quote again. As we can see, Mother Teresa practiced this principle.

The more you fight something the stronger it gets, so fight for your empowerment, not your weakness.

Pennies from Heaven

Walking through a packed parking lot, a shiny penny caught my eye. Finding a faced-up penny is supposed to be a sign of good luck; Should I pick the penny up? I almost picked the penny up, but decided to forgo touching the dirty pavement and kept walking.

A day later, I decided to unwind with a nice long shower. When I stepped out of the shower, placing one foot on the floor mat, I noticed a shiny faced-up penny. Where did this shower penny come from? Do pennies really come from heaven?

I picked the penny up and looked at it closely…

I told you that story to tell you this story…

I’ve been waiting on God, lately. I am nervous about certain aspects of my life and wondering when and how things will come together. I have been waiting and trusting our Lord, because I clearly know that HIS timing is best, because HE knows what’s best. Another thing I know clearly is that our time table looks nothing like the Lord’s time table. I know that I am in a season for change, and change is not always a bad thing…in fact, we are built for change.

As I have been facing change and the coming of change, this also means that I am facing the unknown. The unknown can be the companion of change which equals nervousness.

So why am I seeing pennies? Why would a penny catch my eye? If I had picked up the parking lot penny, would I have found the shower penny? How did that penny even get on my floor mat?

So what did I find when I picked up the penny and examined it closely?

I found the advice that I would give any one of you who is facing uncertain times like me…

“In God We Trust.”

Prayer

I realize that this is a place for inspiration…inspiration for my Readers. In the past, I have extended my hand to my Readers and asked that the pray for me; I come to you again for this request.

I am facing new chapters in my life and I need the help and support from our Lord. I’m trusting our Lord for a smooth transition and to be at the center of HIS will.

It would be greatly appreciated if you thought of me in your prayers.

We’re all on this earthly journey together and I thank you all for being a part of my life.

Man makes mistakes. Man can think ways are perfect when they’re not. Man cannot see the whole picture. Yes, man is important and we have the responsibility to help one another, but…

Man is not perfect and our Lord is. Don’t run to people; instead run to our lord…place your confidence in HIM…follow the promptings HE has placed in your heart.

Wish

This is the wishing station in my backyard. We all need the wonderment of wishing wells, shooting stars, birthday candles, or in this case, backyard dandelions…

I’m giving everyone a chance at a wish…but be sure to keep your wish close to your heart, because as they say, if you tell your wish, it may not come true!
