A Word of Peace

2 Thessalonians 3:16
New International Version (NIV)
16 “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.”

The best way to know if you are in the will of God’s plan- is by having HIS peace. God wants you to experience peace. God needs you to be still and allow all of your emotions to settle so that you may be led by the spirit of peace that lives in you. Peace is a beautiful thing. Peace is available to you. Our God is the Prince of Peace; allow yourself to experience peace from the true source of peace and not worldly peace. As the scripture says, let the Lord be with you all. Shalom.

Scripture Sunday: Love

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

So Close

Close but so far; this was a once perception of how I viewed God. It once felt like God was close but at the same time HE was so far in the distance. I say, it once felt, because the longing to feel close to God when feeling HE was so far away is past tense.
Through enough experience with God and with the journey of wanting to grow in my relationship with God, I have come to realize that God is always right here, always right now; as my late grandmother would say, “you’ve graduated.” Yes, I’ve come up a little higher and understand that God is my best friend who will never leave me; this truth is for you too.
We may not always have a sign, a feeling, or an enlightened experience to know that God is here, but HE is. God is here when we call out to HIM and HE is here when we are in a mindless state of distraction. The bible even talks about God watching over you when you sleep. Every moment from every breath, your God is watching over you. Keep growing with God…you’re so close!

Scripture Sunday

Isaiah 61

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
    because the Lord has anointed me
    to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
    to proclaim freedom for the captives
    and release from darkness for the prisoners,

to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
    and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
    and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
    instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
    instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
    instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
    a planting of the Lord
    for the display of his splendor.
They will rebuild the ancient ruins
    and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
    that have been devastated for generations.
Strangers will shepherd your flocks;
    foreigners will work your fields and vineyards.
And you will be called priests of the Lord,
    you will be named ministers of our God.
You will feed on the wealth of nations,
    and in their riches you will boast.
Instead of your shame
    you will receive a double portion,
and instead of disgrace
    you will rejoice in your inheritance.
And so you will inherit a double portion in your land,
    and everlasting joy will be yours.
“For I, the Lord, love justice;
    I hate robbery and wrongdoing.
In my faithfulness I will reward my people
    and make an everlasting covenant with them.

Their descendants will be known among the nations
    and their offspring among the peoples.
All who see them will acknowledge
    that they are a people the Lord has blessed.”
10 I delight greatly in the Lord;
    my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
    and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
    and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

11 For as the soil makes the sprout come up
    and a garden causes seeds to grow,
so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness
    and praise spring up before all nations.
