Shhhhhhh……

There are some places in life where you get the index finger in front of the pucker and you hear the shhhhh…..
Oh, the universal shut up gesture. An echo friendly library comes to mind with the shushing. There probably should be more ‘please be quiet’ places in the world. I don’t suggest you live in a library to find constant silence, but since you live in your own life, you can create a silence zone anywhere you want.
There is enormous power in silence.  When there is silence, peace is the next surface layer. Don’t be afraid of the silence. Don’t be afraid of being alone with your thoughts. Silence, peace, stillness is where you connect with yourself. Peace is a beautiful thing. Peace is so beautiful; it’s not something I can even describe. Peace is so divine that once you get a taste of peace…you will be so addicted to it.
If you want peace you have to study it and practice it; it’s that simple. Take all the moments you can to just be. Try to be in the moment with all your activities. Don’t rush through your life, but be mindful even in simple things like combing your hair, or putting on your shoes. Life can get busy and fast pace, so get creative and be mindful with all those things we seem to do on autopilot.
Peace is already in you, you just have to practice peace to really have it show up strong in your presence. Think peace. Be peace. Breathe. Tell yourself you are a peaceful person. If the peace of God is in my mind, it will flow in my heart; if it flows in my heart it will flow in my actions. Peaceful actions will help you handle all your daily interactions.
If you are serious about finding your peace, do peaceful exercises every day. Over time you will notice that things that would have normally pushed your buttons don’t seem like a big deal. You will notice you’re growing in peace by how you’re responding to things… your mind will give a little pop-up reminder of ‘hey, that’s not how you handled that situation 6 months ago.’ Growth is good.
Some simple exercises to consider:
Wake up a little early and say good-morning to God. Ask God to help you for the day. Rest there and take a few deep breaths and be still.
Before you go to bed, take a few moments to talk to God and thank him for the day. Take a few deep breaths and be still.
Be mindful in the little things.
Tell yourself all the time that you are at peace. “I’m a peaceful person.” “I live in peace.”
While you drive, turn off the radio. Pay attention to your driving and let there be silence in the car.
Mute those commercials during your T.V time and think about peace and breathe in silence.

Why not even take a few moments being in peace after you read this blog….go on and sit here peacefully breathing in and out; just sit there and let those around you think you’re a slow reader.
Those are my tips and suggestions for your peaceful journey. So go on and shhhhh your way to a peace new you, and the bonus part is, you’ll never have an overdue library fee reading this blog.

Quote for Today

"I keep the telephone of my mind open to peace, harmony, health, love, and abundance. Then, whenever doubt, anxiety, or fear try to call me, they will keep getting a busy signal-and soon they'll forget my number."

- Edith Armstrong

I love this quote! The mind is so complex and fascinating. Make sure you are thinking on things that are in line with what you want. Create the vibe you want with your thoughts, attitudes, and words. Give peace, harmony, love, joy, hope, beauty a permanent residence in your mind.

YES!

Yes, you are a child of God
Yes, you are loved
Yes, you are important
Yes, you deserve happiness
Yes, you have a divine assignment
Yes, you are beautiful

Say yes to yourself! You have to change your mindset and think on things that are positive and encouraging. You have to talk to yourself, and remind yourself daily on the good things God says about you. A great tip is to say positive things to yourself while looking at yourself in the mirror; this may feel silly, but it will truly help you develop a healthy dose of self-esteem. Learn to love yourself from the inside. Love from the inside will come pouring out of you, and you will start to attract loving and nurturing people into your life. Don’t grab at love, but be love. Say Yes to yourself! Remember that harsh words, negative thoughts, and bad attitudes are not your friends! Can it be hard to remember to do…yes. Can it help develop self esteem…yes. Can it improve your life…yes. Will you start saying yes to yourself…hopefully yes!

Quote

"Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood."– Marie Curie

I like this quote a lot because it reminds me of how we need to look at everything in our life as a lesson and learning moment. Understanding things or analyzing things can be scary, but look at the reward in the end. If we understand things better, even fear, then the goal is to move up higher and be all that we are meant to be.

Happy

I hear some people say, “they just want to be happy?” What does that really mean? Happy? Are you happy? What does happiness look like for you? What would you have to do or accomplish to feel happy? Could it be that you already have happiness? Try to view happiness as a state of now; you have everything you need now. It’s good to have goals and dreams but realize you don’t need to be chasing happiness, because happiness is in the moment. Look in for your happiness instead of out. Enjoy this moment, relax in this moment, breath, and change your state of mind to realize everything is fine, and you can enjoy happiness now.

Talk

Remind yourself that God loves you and has a great plan for your life. You may not see how your life can increase, but God can. God is in control and he always has a way. God wants you to enjoy your life and enjoy the beauty in the world. The most helpful thing to do is to talk to yourself and to remind yourself that you are here for a reason and you have a great divine assignment. Tell yourself positive things; this won’t come naturally, you do have to put the effort in to talking to yourself. Talk those blessing into your life! When you talk to yourself you’re rooting those words into your spirit and you will see change in due time.

Footprints in the Sand

Footprints in the Sand

Mary Stevenson

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
"Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?"
The Lord replied,
"The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints,
is when I carried you."

Be Kind

God is not harsh on you, so why be so harsh on yourself? He accepts you just as you are-flaws and all! God chose you- he picked you-he loves you. Never wish to be someone else; you don’t know their journey. Embrace your own journey and be kind toward yourself. Take time to list some of the blessings God has given you.

Reflect

I read this recently, and I decided to share it with all of you. Please read it carefully and thoughtfully. These words give us great advice and have great meaning. Read what it says and then put it into practice. Enjoy.

"Continuing to tell stories of shortage only continues to contradict your desire for abundance, and you cannot have it both ways: You cannot focus upon what is unwanted and receive wanted. You cannot focus upon stories about money that make you feel uncomfortable and allow into your experience what makes you feel comfortable. You have to begin telling a different story if you want different results.
We would begin by saying: I want to feel good, I want to feel productive and expansive. My thoughts are the basis for the attraction of all things that I consider to be good, which includes enough money for my comfort and joy, which includes health and wonderful people around me who are stimulating and uplifting and exciting."

Study

If you want to change your life, my best advice for you is to study! If you are wanting to change your finances, health, relationships, etc. then the best thing to do is learn as much as you can about that area you want to change. Read books, search the internet, join organizations that will help you and steer you towards the improvement you want to see in your life. Always be learning, growing, and stretching. There are so many resources and good people in the world that can help you come up higher; but you have to do your part too. Seek good and you will find good. If you study, you can then be enlightened and enlightenment brings growth. Be the best you!

Poem

ME
By: Elle

Who do you see when you look at me?
That answer shouldn’t be important to me
I must set myself free
I shall laugh at your answer with pure glee
To know your opinion has nothing to do with me

To feel God’s love is a necessity
To feel my love is an opportunity
Both should hold the same capacity

I see my faults and flaws
I don’t need you to point them out to me
I do my best with what God gave me

What do I see when I look at me?
A girl who wants love unconditionally
All along that love was right inside of me
This is why your answer means nothing to me

If you look in instead of out
You’ll see beauty come pouring abundantly out
And see what God is truly about
And whisper freely to thee
I’m glad God made me to be me

Real love will start a reaction in you that will heal any situation. God’s words will make you feel beautiful, respected, and valuable. What does the face of love look like? Look in the mirror. How does love feel? Accepted and enough. And, love will never make you scratch for it, for it is that endless river that never dries up.
God is always working in your life. God loves you so much. Be excited about your life. You never know what blessing is right around the corner.

Rejection = Protection

Rejection used to bother me. Who wants to be rejected? No one. We all want to be accepted and loved. We all want to feel like we are valuable and appreciated. But, what I’ve come to learn is that rejection is actually a good thing. If I believe that God is in control (which he is) then I believe when I get rejected from someone or something that must mean that the rejection is protecting me. If something is not the best for me, then I don’t want it and maybe it needs to show up in the form of rejection. God never rejects us, he loves us, and therefore I don’t need to reject myself just because I was rejected in something. Try to be thankful for rejection; it could be saving you from a lot of heartache and leaving you open for the right opportunities coming your way.

F.E.A.R

False
Evidence
Appearing
Real

Don’t let fear steal your happiness, joy, or excitement.  Let fear go.

Get Ready........Get Set........Go!

“I gotta go! I’ll talk to ya later.” Sound familiar? GO! GO! GO! Our generation is so fast pace. It seems as if we are always doing something or going somewhere. Who do we thank for this crazed fast pace world? Sorry to tell you this, but it’s you and me.
Uh oh…you mean you and I are to thank?!?! So, I can’t blame the problem on those technology gurus, like the guys that created the Internet, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter or Cell Phones?!?! No! Can I at least blame ad agencies or high powered executives that are always flashing some new fancy gadget in my face, to the point where I run to get it, because I feel I like I can’t live without it?!?! No! Should I stop with the questions and explain?!?! Sure!
We all need to take responsibility for our schedule. There are some things we have to do in life (for example, work or school). Then there are things that we choose to do (for example, parties or joining clubs/social networks). Your life should feel balanced and calm. You should feel like you are benefiting from your activities, not drained and exhausted. You have the power and ability to choose how you spend your time. However your schedule looks, the best way to spend your time is in peace.
Have you ever rushed through your day, bouncing from one appointment to the next waiting for one thing to be over so you can hurry to the next thing, only to rush through that as well? I have. It’s no way to spend the day, because all we have is this very moment. Pause right now and look around. You’re breathing, you’re safe, you’re protected, you’re clothed, fed, and sheltered. There are no worries as you read this…so just be; be in the moment.
Remember, a busy life does not necessarily mean you have an important life; busy could just mean busy. Choose activities with good intentions. Move slowly and thoughtfully through your day. Be at peace. Be still. Rest. God’s stillness is in every breath.
As you practice just being, you’ll notice how calm life can be in every moment. In the stillness of your mind, know that God is with you. This takes time, but it is worth every effort. When you are calm and present you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish, because you’re really connected to whatever it is you’re doing in that very moment.
Are you ready for this new found peace that was always there to start with? Good, because I gotta go.
But first, let’s practice some peace.  Yes, peace takes practice and the best time to start is now, in the moment- Get ready…Get set…GO!

Be a Blessing

I heard someone say that you should be a blessing and not a burden. I don’t think people mean to be a burden because we all need help from time to time. Yet, we need to help others and bless others. Think of it this way; treat others the way you want to be treated. Help someone. Bless someone. Be the extended hand that you want when you are troubled.

10/10/10

Today is 10/10/10
Do you consider this a lucky date? If so, make a wish!

Quotes

"Imagine that every person in the world is enlightened but you.  They are all your teachers, each doing just the right things to help you learn perfect patience, perfect wisdom, perfect compassion."

- Buddha

"It is through solving problems correctly that we grow spiritually.  We are never given a burden unless we have the capacity to overcome it.  If a great problem is set before you, this merely indicates that you have the great inner strength to solve a great problem.  There is never really anything to be discouraged about, because difficulties are opportunities for inner growth, and the greater the difficulty the greater the opportunity for growth."

Welcome!

Welcome! I hope you enjoy my blog. This is a corner of the world that you can come to for some hope and renewing. I will write about things that I have learned, studied, and observed in the world. I want you ‘the reader’ to know that there is beauty in the world, and I hope to share my insights on life to make yours a little better!
Enjoy.

L.O.V.E

What are four letters that can change a life so deeply? It’s LOVE. The world swims in the pool of love. We love hearing love stories, watching love movies, and singing along to our favorite love song. Let’s examine love for a moment. What does the face of love look like? How does love feel? Do you scratch for love in your life or does it flow to you like an endless river? Go ahead, and pause reading this for a moment and think about your view on love; we’ll resume when you’re done.
Welcome back. Love cannot be placed in a box. Love flows like a sweet intoxicating perfume. Have you ever had a person walk by and their scent brushes your senses and you can’t help but think, “What is that yummy scent?” Love works in the same manner, but love is the most magical powerful potion.
Love really begins with the personal relationship that is between you and God. That is where I recommend your love journey to begin. Yes, love is a journey, as is your whole life. The bible teaches us about love in Corinthians. Review those scriptures everyday to really get those love words rooted in you.
You have two parts to you. You have the ‘real’ you and then you have the ‘ego’ you. The ego is an ugly thing to control, but there’s hope, because the real you can control that ego. The ego can think that you’re better, faster, smarter, and prettier, than anyone it comes across. The ego likes to think it’s always right and it’s always trying to prove. The ego is cocky. Have you had anyone sport that ego perfume? It stinks and you can’t wait to get away from that scent, right??? We all have an ego, but the real us is bigger and better than the ego; and that’s not my ego talking.
First, think about what you’re thinking about. Do you speak kindly to yourself? Do you forgive yourself as well as others? Are you accepting of yourself, flaws and all? If your answers were yes, congratulations; you’re on the right road. If you answered no, then now is the perfect opportunity to start.  Get quite with God everyday and start talking to yourself. Talk to myself? Yes! Say what God says about you. Remind yourself that you are Gods child and think on how much he loves you. Say out loud, “I am loved. God loves me.” Say it 100 times a day if you have to. Have that quite time with you and God. Real love will start a reaction in you that will heal any situation. God’s words will make you feel beautiful, respected, and valuable. What does the face of love look like? Look in the mirror. How does love feel? Accepted and enough. And, love will never make you scratch for it, for it is that endless river that never dries up.
When you get real love rooted in you, it will supernaturally pour from your pores and when you walk in a room, everyone will wonder what’s different about you; they’ll be drawn to you and show you the same respect you’ve been giving yourself.
Sniff. Sniff. You smell good already!
