Focus

There are so many distractions in the world…where do you place your focus? Focus is so important, because what you focus on grows. So choose a focus that supports positivity, encouragement, happiness, and acceptance. God wants us to focus on the good, because HE is good. Focus is like a muscle; the more you work it, the strong it gets. So start today with being kind to yourself and focus what is going right in your life. Life is so much easier when you look at it with hope. Change your perception and watch how your life will come into focus!

Quote

"We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee."

Scripture Sunday

Matthew 11:28-30

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary
and burdened, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

I, Promise

I (insert name), make a promise to myself. I promise to love myself as I am. I promise to stop being harsh and overcritical of myself. I promise to accept myself. I open the door for forgiveness for those who have hurt me and I forgive myself for any of my shortcomings. Today is a new day. I am a new creature in Christ. The old has passed away, I can stop looking back. I have bright days in front of me that I will enjoy to the fullest. Lord, thank you for always filling in the gap from the love I received and the love I needed. Thank you that your love is perfect and that you love me just as I am. I will view myself with the same kind eyes that our Lord does…I promise.

Promise

Promise me today, that you will start to open the door for forgiveness. If you want unity and peace, then please start the forgiveness process. When you forgive others, remember to also forgive yourself. Go to our Lord and ask HIM to open the door for forgiveness. Our Lord has forgiven you for your mistakes, which is a great way to put things in perspective; If you’ve been forgiven, then you should also show forgiveness.

Wounds and hurts can sometimes run deep, so realize that forgiveness can be a process. Whenever you have a hurt feeling or memory, take it to our Lord; take that pain to HIM, tell HIM you are surrendering this to HIM so that HE may heal you. Let forgiveness be an opportunity to go to a deeper level in your relationship with our Lord.

Let our Lord set you free from all the hurts, offensives, strife, rejection, or any other emotional bondage that you carry around.

HE will in all things bring good (Romans 8:28). Let HIM bring good from those hurts; I know that may look impossible, but with God nothing is impossible (Matthew 19:26). And remember, Romans 8:28 and Matthew 19:26 aren’t just scriptures…they’re both a promise.

Scripture Sunday

Psalm 16:11
11 “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.

The world is completely full of empty promises. Only seek what God can give you; only then will you be satisfied.

Quote & Thought

"We cannot live for ourselves alone. Our lives are connected by a thousand invisible threads, and along these sympathetic fibers, our actions run as causes and return to us as results."
~ Herman Melville

How do you interpret this quote? We need to not just think of ourselves. We need to be there to help, encourage, support, inspire, and care about one another. God wants unity. We are all connected on some level…if you see it or not...so act with each other with kindness and love; when you do, you’ll find that same love and kindness come back to you.

Transition

If we want to press forward in life, whether it be pressing forward in our careers, our relationships, our health, finances, or even pressing through insecurities and fears, we have to go through transitions to get there. What is a transition?

A transition is when movement happens that takes you from one form to another. For example, becoming an adult is a form of transition. You move from being a teenager into an adult; you likely grow and have physical change during this transition, you take on more responsibilities in life during this transition, mental perspectives change as you gain more life experience, and even your educational level can change as you move from a high school level to a college level. Transition is another word for change. We all go through transitions in life.

Transitions can be scary because the unknown factor is involved. The best way to handle transition is to continue releasing your overworked worries about the transition to God. Whenever I find myself shifting into a state of change, I just stop my thoughts in their tracks and say either, Lord, I give this to you…or…I trust you, God.

Getting out of my old way of thinking is a transition. The bible says that we are to renew our minds daily. New ways of thinking and renewing our minds is so beneficial (which is why our Lord instructs us to do so) but there is a transition process to renewing your mind; the transition takes you from the old way of thinking to the new way of thinking.

Whatever transition you are going through now, or even a transition you want to see happen, just trust the fact that transition does not happen all at once. Keep pressing forward. Keep moving with trust. If you have a set back during your transition, it’s okay; just tell God that you trust HIM and keep pressing in the direction you know is right.

Don’t get discouraged if you feel that you haven’t arrived yet. Just be thankful that God is taking you in the direction that HE has mapped out for you, and declare that you are getting better every day in every way!!!

Through the Day

What does your day look like? Whatever your day brings, whatever decisions you have to make today, move through it with peace; don’t be afraid of the unknown. How can we move though the day unafraid? We move with the knowledge that God Himself is in complete control and is overseeing every single detail. Look with your eyes of peace today. Show others around you how to stay calm when things get hectic. When you feel overwhelming emotions creep in, just say, “Jesus, I trust you.” Just keep saying, “Jesus, I trust you”…through the day.

"Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained."

Scripture Sunday

God can work everything together, no matter how ugly of a situation, and bring good from it. The proof is in (Scripture) Romans 8:28
“We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.”

Hope Springs Eternal

Spring has already officially occurred. Spring finds its own visible rhythm between winter and summer. opoSpring brings fresh flower scented air from the crisp winter nights. The sun is shining through a little brighter and warmer. Street lights don’t come on for a couple more hours. We spring our clocks forward. And spring has hope. Hope, no matter the odds, there will be hope. Whatever the odds you face in a situation, you face it with hope, because the hope you carry is eternal. Spring may be in the air, but hope will always spring…eternal.
No matter what your day looks like, face it with hope.

Thank You, Love!

Psalm 33: 1-5
1Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous;
it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
2 Praise the Lord with the harp;
make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
3 Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully, and shout for joy.
4 For the word of the Lord is right and true;
he is faithful in all he does.
5 The Lord loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of his unfailing love.

Let’s review this scripture, shall we…
In verse one, it says that you are righteous. Do you even consider yourself righteous in the eyes of our Lord? Righteous means that you are wonderful, moral, and upright; This is (exactly) how our Lord sees you. And in the first part of this scripture, it tells the righteous (that’s you) to praise our Lord.
Yes, praise. Praise with thanksgiving and song. We can turn to our Lord for so much help, guidance, healing, protection, favor, and meeting our needs. But, we also need to turn to Him and thank Him for all that HE has done and is doing in our lives. A simple thank you goes a long way…so give it a try.
 In verse four and five, it talks about love and truth. Our Lord is faithful and true in EVERYTHING, which means you can trust HIM in ALL that HE does. Our Lord has an unfailing love for this world, but it’s important to personalize that statement, for HE has unfailing love for you.
Thank you Lord for your love!

Life Happened

A regular Reader of Renewed Corner could tell you, no posts were made for about a month. Why no posts for such a long time? The answer is life. Life happened.

During my educational chapters of life, a few assignments were given where the students had to present there long term goals; Where do you see yourself in five years?

Not only do teachers want to know what you have planned and mapped out for the next five years, but potential bosses are interested too…why else would that be such a standard interview question, right?

Even though I’ve had to answer my future goal questions, I’d prefer not to answer or explain my five year goal plan.

People say that life is a journey; which is totally true. But, one day, I heard someone use the term voyage and my mind screamed with an internal…YES! Life is a voyage.

 You can do your best to plan and prepare for a voyage, but the best part of a voyage is not knowing all the exciting turns, stops, ports, or people you’ll encounter. If you plan and calculate every step of your voyage, you run the risk missing out on what life wants you to see and experience.

It’s great to plan and to have direction, but you have to let life happen too. If you plan to make a left turn in life, and life makes you turn right, then turn right without questions.

What are my goals for the next five years? I don’t know. I’m open to life and God to know that I will be guided in a path that I’m meant to walk.

I did not expect to leave Renewed Corner post-less for so long…but then again, life happened.

Return (To Me)

Hello Readers!

Or as Barbra Streisand would say…Hello, Gorgeous!

I’m very aware of my writing absence, and I apologize for the long gap in posting. I’m able to say with confidence that I am able to write, post, and communicate with you once again. Thank you for your patience, and I hope that with my return, I find that you return to me too.
Hope all of my Readers had a wonderful Easter and spring break.

Have a happy Monday,
