Get with God

Never feel bad or embarrassed about whatever situation you’re facing; sometimes people just won’t understand or relate. We’re all facing something at some point. Get with God and allow Him to work in your life so that you come out stronger when your situation is over. Don’t worry about what other people think and allow God to mold you into the person you’re meant to be!

Scripture Sunday: Sing Joyful Noise

Psalms 5:11-12

But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. For you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover him with favor as with a shield.

Take Time

Take time today and enjoy where you are at, who you are with, and what you are doing. Time can go by so quickly, and before you know it, the day, the week, the month is over; was there any joy?
Even the have-to-do honey-do-list, can be done with joy…it’s all in the way you approach your time. Find ways to make your chores fun. Let stress and worry go so you can relax. Enjoy the moment and don’t worry about how everything is going to work out. You can find the joy if you slow down and take time.

Tis the Season!

Tis the season to be jolly!
Are you jolly? We are definitely in the thick of the holiday season. This is the time of year where so many people and communities have gatherings, parties, gift sharing, parades, homemade cookie swaps, caroling, secret Santa’s, hot chocolate, and family traditions that has been started or passed down from generation to generation. There is so much to do and participate in this time of year! Are you participating?
Be jolly and have some fun participating in the joy of the season. It’s up to you to make the most of what the season has to offer, and as reviewed the season has a lot to offer!
No matter what you may be going through in your life, look for the bright side of things. Don’t let life bring you down and let circumstance still your joy…put a smile on Santa’s face by embracing everything you do have! Let your joy and holiday cheer be as bright as freshly hung Christmas lights. Throw on your favorite Christmas sweater and spread some cheer; be an inspiration to someone else who may have the humbugs. We still have plenty of time left of the season to turn any frown upside-down, so…Fa LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA!

Scripture Sunday

Hebrews 12: 1-2
"Therefore then, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,
2 Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God."

Rest of God = Don’t worry

Life can cause us to be so anxious.
We can easily worry about when something is going to happen.
We fret over how long we have to wait.
We can worry about how everything is going to come together.
Frustration can pile up over closed doors when we’re waiting for the right one to open.
Confusion can set in our minds when we had plans to go right and life made us go left.
With all the anxiousness, worry, fretting, figuring out, frustration, and confusion, there is an answer.
The answer to our situations is to rest in God.
What does rest mean?
Rest means that we believe in God so strongly that HE is in control, that we don’t allow our minds to have draining emotions.
Believe that God is working in your life, because HE is.
Believe that God will do the best for you in your circumstance, because HE loves you and wants the best for you.
Rest in God knowing that HE can make a way when there seems no way, and that you will follow HIS prompting when HE shows you what to do.
Hebrews 4:3
3 “For we who have believed (adhered to and trusted in and relied on God) do enter that rest…”

Really

I really understand that the phrase, “Don’t Give Up,” is common and used to ease the mind to those who are seeking some form of a breakthrough.
Really common phrases, because of their commonness can lose its impactful-ness. But really and truly, I say to you, Don’t Give Up!
If there is any area in your life that you want to see change, you want to see growth, you want to have healing and peace over, then don’t give up on seeking the answer.
Now, God is our answer to everything, and HE has a plan to help you, but you can’t give up.
If you really want change, then don’t give up. If you really want healing, then continue to seek God and seek the way HE wants to take you through your situation; you WILL go through your situation and come out better on the other side…really!

Wouldn’t you Agree?

Our last Scripture Sunday post was quite a long read…
wouldn’t you agree?
But, the reason I chose that scripture, is because of the wonderful points that are written with such poetic flow; if you really read that scripture carefully, I think you would agree.
The scripture that was posted is Psalm 139…
It is such a great awakening moment of realizing how much God is with you, knows you, and is here to guide you and lift you up.
I think that you would agree with me when I say that knowing God formed each one of us and HIS wonderful thoughts towards us out-weigh the grains of sand, is something we should focus on; especially on our cloudy days.
Really comb through Psalm 139. Open yourself up to how much God loves you and understands you. If we all focused on the goodness of God, HIS presence in our day, and HIS divine order to our steps, we would all be living a little more freely and peacefully…wouldn’t you agree?

Scripture Sunday: Psalm 139

Psalm 139:

Director of Music. Of David. A Psalm.”

1 “O LORD, you have searched me and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD.
5 You hem me in--behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,"
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.
13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you.
19 If only you would slay the wicked, O God! Away from me, you bloodthirsty men!
20 They speak of you with evil intent;
your adversaries misuse your name.
21 Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD, and abhor those who rise up against you?
22 I have nothing but hatred for them; I count them my enemies.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.”

Here Comes the Sun

We all need a champion in our life who is willing to fight for us; A person who is there to help lift you up when you’re feeling down. You need a person who is willing to listen to your heartaches. We all need someone in our lives that will be there to tell you how great you are and remind you of how much you have to offer. It’s important to have a support team. If you don’t have a champion of hope in your life, turn to God. Let God be your champion. Read the bible and learn what good things God has to say about you. It’s even more important to recognize that you can be that person to someone in your life! Be kind to the people around you…you might just be the only ray of sunshine they see that day.

Try to enjoy your life today and let go of the worries of tomorrow. Don’t try to figure out what’s going to happen next or stew over how everything is going to come together.
Just enjoy.
Enjoy today!

The Keys To…

Want the keys to success?
Okay, good…then keep reading!
Change can happen if you want it, however, don’t seek change in others…seek it in yourself!
Whatever change it is that you wish to have, you can have it by doing two things. Yes, I will give you the keys to change!
The first key is prayer.
Go to God in prayer and ask HIM to help you change in the area in which you struggle with. This key is most important because God wants to be involved with everything in your life. Everything! God wants to help you, and HE has the ability to heal and restore you in wondrous ways. If you try to change yourself all on your own, in your own strength, in your own ability, it will surely drain and exhaust you. Self-mastering will leave you frustrated, so invite God in to help you.
The second key to seeing change in your life is study.
Yes, study. Once you invite God into your situation, start to study. For example, if you want to see change in a relationship and you know that it will require some forgiveness, first, go to God and ask that your heart opens up for forgiveness; then start to do some research (study time) on forgiveness. You might want to find a good book that deals with forgiveness, you might want to look up scripture about forgiveness and mediate on those scriptures. Maybe you could talk to a trusted member of your church or bible study group about the importance of forgiveness.
Whatever holds you back, whatever you struggle with, whatever area you want to be better at and come up higher in, follow these instructions; take these keys and unlock yourself!
