John 14:27

27 Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

Envision the Vision

Christmas, a magical and miracle filled time of year. I encourage you to take time in your day and not just reflect on the magic of Christmas that we as humanity have, but to look beyond our natural set of eyes and picture the heavens.
What do you think heaven is like this time of year? How does heaven look with the celebration of Jesus’ birthday? Are these images even capable of the imagination? Can you see the beauty? Can you imagine the celebration? Allowing my mind to think on such beauty and joy is like a mini vacation from the reality this world brings.
As you sit back and enjoy your decorated Christmas tree and admire the stocking you hung with care, envision the vision of heaven this Christmas.

Scripture Sunday

Matthew 1:18-25
“This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.  Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.  But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.  She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."  All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:  "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"--which means, "God with us."  When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.  But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.”

Scripture Sunday: Endures Forever

Psalm 136
O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever.
O give thanks to the God of gods, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever.
O give thanks to the Lord of lords, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever—
To Him Who alone does great wonders, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever;
To Him Who by wisdom and understanding made the heavens, for His mercyand loving-kindness endure forever;
To Him Who stretched out the earth upon the waters, for His mercy andloving-kindness endure forever;
To Him Who made the great lights, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever—
The sun to rule over the day, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever;
The moon and stars to rule by night, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever;
10 To Him Who smote Egypt in their firstborn, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever;
11 And brought out Israel from among them, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever;
12 With a strong hand and with an outstretched arm, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever;
13 To Him Who divided the Red Sea into parts, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever;
14 And made Israel to pass through the midst of it, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever;
15 But shook off and overthrew Pharaoh and his host into the Red Sea, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever;
16 To Him Who led His people through the wilderness, for His mercy andloving-kindness endure forever;
17 To Him Who smote great kings, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever;

18 And slew famous kings, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever—
19 Sihon king of the Amorites, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever;
20 And Og king of Bashan, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever;
21 And gave their land as a heritage, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever;
22 Even a heritage to Israel His servant, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever;
23 To Him Who [earnestly] remembered us in our low estate and imprinted us [on His heart], for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever;
24 And rescued us from our enemies, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever;
25 To Him Who gives food to all flesh, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever;
26 O give thanks to the God of heaven, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever!

Quote

"The chatter from darkened hearts will spew
out hateful and hurtful words, it's the pain
they have suffered that has broken their
spirit. Instead of growing stronger and having
 more understanding, they've grown bitter
and full of judgment. You are free and a
wonderful creation, that was made to shine
and not be hindered by the cruelty of words
 from a darkened heart. Go shine and be
unstoppable."

Every Step

The wonder, the analyzing, the questioning of how and when certain situations are going to work out or when promises from God are going to be fulfilled can be draining mentally and physically. Official and may I add accurate answers to many Christian questions and concerns are, trust in the Lord and God’s timing is perfect. Yet, even when you have faith, it can be hard not to let worry creep in.
About every two months, I travel. My travel is typically considered a day trip. My day trip that I consistently do every two months is really a testimony of God working in my life. Every time I travel I come home knowing that God was with me the whole trip. Traveling can be a stressful experience, but when I do make this trip, I feel this anointed flow and the details of the day are perfectly on point. This week was when I needed to make my day trip, but it didn’t happen; events blocked my travels. I was disappointed that I wasn’t able to make my trip, but I realized that it wasn’t meant to be. As the week has started to progress, I see why I wasn’t able to go. In fact, it’s actually a blessing that I didn’t go out of town this week.
My point is this. God is truly with you in every step that you take. God knows how to orchestrate your life, because HIS timing truly is pin-point-perfect. HE sees the big picture and knows how to get you to where you need to be; whether it’s in your career, love life, health, finances, or a road trip. We as Christians may not always see the big leadings or see how and when things are going to work out, but trust that they are, and start looking at your road tips of life and see how in your days HE is truly leading you with every step.

The Three R’s

Read, Reflect, Renew is our motto for Renewed Corner.
Read, Reflect, Renew is a building block to help you grow and to become more aware of yourself and how God plays an intricate role in our journey we call life. With this motto in mind I propose a question for you that once read will hopefully cause you to reflect and start you in the direction of renewal.
So, what is the question? Before I hand over the question to you, I must make it clear that you and only you can answer this question. This question might take some time to answer, so give your reflection time…time. And remember, whatever conclusion you come up with, it's your conclusion to follow through with-with action. Follow the following instructions…
Read: Who Do I Want to Be?
Reflect: When it’s all said and done. When it’s just you and God. When life throws you a curve ball. When a relationship ends. When a job is retired. When a home gets transferred. When we find ourselves alone, ask yourself, “At the end of the day, who do I want to be?”
Renew: Start acting like the person you truly want to be. Start behaving like the person you want to be when it’s all said and done, when it’s just you and God, when life throws you a curve ball, when a relationship ends, when a job gets retired and when a home gets transferred.
At the end of the day, you must be rooted in knowing that God loves you and you’re going to be okay. Know that God wants you to be free and out of any form of bondage. Many choices come with freedom, so I say, “At the end of the day, who do I want to be?”

Scripture Sunday: What to Think On

Philippians 4:8 Amplified Bible (AMP)
8 For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].

Quote & Thought

Quote

"I was always looking outside myself for strength and confidence, but it comes from within. It is there all the time."
~Anna Freud

Thought

When you know who God is and how much HE is for you and how much HE loves you…you don’t need to be searching for outside validation; and you certainly don’t need to look outside yourself for strength and confidence because greater is HE lives in you (see 1 John 4:4).

Quote

"If you are sabotaging your relationships, it indicates that something inside you feels you do not deserve to be in a happy loving relationship.
You do deserve love, so you need to uncover the source of this false belief inside and heal it with a true awareness of your spiritual value.
You may need the assistance of a counselor or a trustworthy friend who can be completely honest with you to help you through this healing process.
Once the old sabotaging belief has been healed and replaced with a real recognition of your essential loving self, you will no longer undermine your relationships."

Renewed

Why do I post Monday’s Mantra?
Because I don’t know how you normally talk or think to yourself about yourself; I want to plant at least one good thought that you can carry throughout your day.
How you think, how you talk, how you see yourself is so critical to your overall well being. You must take time to study and learn what God says about you. If you want any kind of victory in your life, you must actively take time to spend with God and learn HIS ways, learn how HE talks and how HE thinks.
God loves you and when you focus your life on that, when your move your thoughts and speech with that kind of focus, you will become renewed.
Ephesians 4:22-24 Amplified Bible (AMP)
22 Strip yourselves of your former nature [put off and discard your old un-renewed self] which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion;
23 And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude],
24 And put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God’s image, [Godlike] in true righteousness and holiness.”

Light of My Steps

Having a GPS system for your car helps you find your destination with ease and clarity. Admittedly, I wish there was a GPS device for my life; a gadget I could purchase at my local Best Buy retail store to help me find my way in life. Wouldn’t it be helpful to know which path in life is the easiest, fastest, and safest way? Let me give you a clear answer to that question; the answer is yes-and-no. What? You don’t think a yes-and-no answer is clear enough? Well, let me try to clear that up.
Yes, we have God, who is always with us. Always. God knows the best for us and if we turn to God for help, HE will always help us and show us the way. God has ways that are above our ways, and HE knows how to open doors, shut doors, and move us in ways that let us know that HE is our GPS.
No, God is not going to make every single decision for us because HE has given us free will. Just because God has given you some form of direction, doesn’t mean a human can’t reject it. It can be fear, insecurities, bad habits, or wrong intentions that cause us to go down the wrong road or maybe it’s not the wrong road, just an unnecessary detour.
Remember that you can always fall back into yes. The yes answer is always at your beck and call; God will always be there to help you.
The third answer…wait, I know what you’re thinking, there’s a third answer??? The third answer is trust.
Trust is an important component in your journey. When you don’t know what to do, where to go, where you belong, you have to trust that you will be led. The old saying, “step out in faith”, is true! Stepping out and giving something a try is a way for you to know if you’re headed down the right path. If it works it works, if it doesn’t it doesn’t…and the only way to know is if you try.
Taking a step of faith means that you maybe placing your steps in the dark; and I understand that nobody wants to be left in the dark, especially when it comes to their life. When you step out in the dark, you’re trusting God, knowing that HE has the light, the glowing canister that never burns out, that sees every path, and every footprint. So trust and ask God to shine a light of my steps into the path that is HIS will.

29 Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.
30 For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.

College Grad

Across our globe, many colleges are kicking off the new season with a new fall semester; you can smell the fall air, you can hear the marching band, you can cheer at the next football game, and it’s a fresh start to learn something new.
The great thing about life, is that life is one great big class room. God is always willing to enroll you wherever you are and the tuition is free!
Life is always teaching you.  Always. Never think the struggles in your life are there to hurt you. The struggles in your life are there to teach you lessons that could only come in the form of that struggle. You can take whatever challenge you’re facing or will face and turn it into a college course for yourself.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you.
Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you.
Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you.
When you ask the Holy Spirit for help, you will find that HE will direct to towards many truths, resources, programs, books, scripture, tools, exercises, and divine friendships that will help you with your homework. Your homework is designed to help you find God, yourself, and healing.
When you seek help with the Holy Spirit, have hope and never give up, because at some point, you will graduate!
