Stations of the Cross: 2

Stations of the Cross
Station Two:
Jesus Accepts His Cross
Jesus had to say yes to HIS cross. I think in our lives today, we want everything to be picture perfect. Nothing is picture perfect. All of us face a cross or two or three. Do not think you are the only one. Instead of fighting against the cross or fearing the cross, do what Jesus did and just say yes. Why say yes? It’s been my experience that when you say yes to our Lord, you are allowing something much better to shape you into something much greater. There is a reason and plan for everything…even your cross…just like Jesus’ cross.
Jesus struggled on Calvary. The cross was hard and probably too overwhelming for us to even mentally compute. Have you ever felt that your cross was too heavy? Has your cross been too overwhelming? Do you feel like your cross will never end?
When you pray, remember that Jesus understands your pain and emotions. As believers, we know that the Lord will not give us more than we can handle. If the Lord can handle HIS cross, then rest in knowing that you can handle your cross. Accepting your cross does not mean it is permanent. Your cross is preparing you for something beautiful. Your cross will come with beauty and blessings, if you choose to see it from that angle.
When things look challenging, remember to pick your head up, pick your cross up, and walk!
Scripture:
Luke 9:23
"Jesus said to all: 'Whoever wishes to be My follower must deny his very self, take up his cross each day, and follow in My steps."

Romans 5: 3-5
3 “Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance.
4And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character (approved faith and tried integrity). And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation.
5Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God's love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us.”
